With the merit of simple structure,long service life and high reliability,labyrinth seals,as a non-contacting seal,have been widely used in motive power machine,such as petrochemical industry,airspace engine,blowers and so on.Because there is no friction between the labyrinth seals components and not need lubricating oil in the process of working.So,labyrinth seals are used to reduce the issues of abrasive dust and oil pollution.Labyrinth compressors are reciprocating compressors that use a labyrinth seal instead of a conventional piston ring and guide ring.But there are same defects for the normal labyrinth seal such as the loss of gas leakage,amount of gas leakage,and leakage speed.These are the critical factors affecting the normal use of equipment.Therefore,it is very important to study the flow mechanism of the gas structure and the energy consumption of the internal flow field in the labyrinth,which is of great significance for reducing the leakage and improving the utilization rate of the labyrinth compressor.This paper builds the two-dimensional model of the piston and cylinder through simplifying the structure based on the labyrinth compressor of type 4HS-MG,then,selects the FLUENT dynamic mesh technology to simulate the model,analyzes the flow field inside the cylinder,and finally,completes the structure optimization.The main research contents as follows:Firstly,based on the research of labyrinth seal at home and abroad,the mechanism of labyrinth seal is mainly explored.Some works were finished include that specifications of the nature of computational fluid,selection of CFD software and CFD analysis process.Secondly,based on the simulation computing platform of FLUENT,prepares of the UFD according to the actual movement of the piston.Then simulates the labyrinth seal model that provides the theoretical basis for the parameter setting and conditional assumptions for the labyrinth seal.Thirdly,the key parameters affecting the leakage of the labyrinth seal are analyzedand compared by the techniques combined with dynamic grid and the orthogonal test method.The optimal scheme of the model is obtained,and its correctness is verified by simulation and theoretical calculation.Finally,analyzes the effects of different labyrinth gears on the sealing performance,and studies the influences of rectangular aspect ratio and trapezoidal depth and angle in detail.Finally,puts forward a reasonable optimization model.The paper provides a reliable reference for engineering practice design by comparing the leakage quantity obtained from the simulation with the empirical formula.
