China is located between the Circum-Pacific seismic belt and the Eurasian seismic belt and is an earthquake-prone country.The roads and bridges are constructed by leaps and bounds with the improvement of comprehensive strength of China.Once they suffer from damages of earthquakes,they will seriously affect the rescue and recovery after the earthquakes,resulting in an immeasurable loss.The hollow piers have been widely used in the construction of the bridges because of its excellent mechanical and seismic performance.The construction technology of hollow piers has been mature,but its seismic theory is far from enough in our country.At home and abroad,the studies are mostly about the quasi-static tests and the numerical simulations of the reinforced concrete hollow pier,while those about the shaking table tests and the numerical simulations are few.Therefore,this paper mainly focuses on the seismic performance of the reinforced concrete hollow pier in numerical simulation and offers suggestions to the reinforced concrete hollow piers in shaking table tests.According to the quasi-static tests,twelve scale specimens of reinforced concrete hollow rectangular piers are designed and the numerical models of the piers based on plastic hinge are established.The shaking table test of the existing reinforced concrete piers is simulated and the results show that the numerical model of concrete bridge pier can simulate the effect of ground motion practicably.Comparing and analyzing how the characteristic parameters of the specimen,included axial compression ratio,longitudinal reinforcement ratio,stirrup ratio,aspect ratio,seismic performance of the reinforced concrete rectangular hollow bridge pier by using the practicable numerical models of the pier.The study shows that the plastic hinge pier numerical model of the reinforced concrete hollow rectangular pier can practicably simulate the effect of the ground motion.The characteristic parameters of specimens,included axial compression ratio,longitudinal reinforcement ratio,stirrup ratio,aspect ratio,have different influences on the seismic performance of the reinforced concrete rectangular hollow bridge pier.
