In this paper,semi-submersible drilling platform as the research object, the plat-form hydrodynamic performance and the mooring system features under operating conditions as well as the survival of sea is studied. The preparatory work is mainly consulting a lot of related literature, learning required software skills, then get the model parameters, process the model with reference to the relevant parameters, and finally use finite element software to simulate analysis for the research object.Hydrodynamic parameters were analyzed based on three-dimensional potential flow theory in the frequency domain and frequency domain to reflect the platform Hydrodynamic performance. In the analysis of frequency domain, which involves platform added mass, radiation damping, wave induced load,RAOs,and finally summarized the calculated results. It is required to create a platform of time-domain model in time domain, and time domain model used in this paper is use 12 mooring lines to keep positioning. In time domain,it used software to simulate platform motion response in sea survival conditions and working conditions;when analyzed platform mooring system, first calculate mooring line forces at work sea conditions as well as the survival of sea conditions;secondly, some parameters of the mooring system were compared and analyzed, including the number of mooring lines, mooring lines slack, mooring lines buoyancy device, which influenced the movement of the platform and mooring line response, then compared the results with the relevant specifications, checking the platform design whether is reasonable. The calculation results were summarized to offer a theoretical basis for the design platform.
