Crowdsourced Ideation Method And Its Key Technology Based On Innovation Vitality Monitoring

Through the recruitment of non-specific participants to complete group work,crowdsourcing has been used with successful cases with high expectation.Crowdsourced ideation method aggregates the wisdom of crowds and generates design solutions.This method supports virtuous development of innovation,but may introduce randomness and uncertainty.Two main problems exist in current crowdsourced ideation methods.First,the lack of connection between design solutions of existing products and of concept products.This results in the lack of effective reference on the distribution of the concept of solutions.Second,the lack of computable index during the crowdsourced ideation process.These problems impede automatic creative crowdsourcing process.Based on dynamically monitoring the crowdsourcing process,we propose a crowdsourced ideation method to tackle the above problems.This method is based on multiple iterations of crowdsourcing tasks.Firstly,we recruit crowd workers to search for existing product design solutions and build concept models.Secondly,we organize crowdsourced design ideation and collect submitted design solutions.We then build concept model based on existing product design solutions and ideated solutions,compute and monitor the Innovation Vitality during the whole crowdsourcing process.We also research on the two key algorithms that support this method:the concept space mapping algorithm based on similarity judgment and the Innovation Vitality computing algorithm based on concept prototype modeling.By building a prototype system,we validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method and key technology on the example of product design of sitting posture correction.The results indicate that the proposed method can build connections between design solutions of existing products and of concept products.In addition,the Innovation Vitality is a valid index representing the state of ideation and is useful for automatic crowdsourced ideation process.
