As the development of the social economy and the need for the energy,different kinds of energy are attracting more and more attention of the scholars around the world,including the traditional fossil energy,water,nuclear and so on.However,the fossil energy belongs to the non-renewable energy,which faces the tendency of being burnt out.So the renewable energy which has the advantage of environment-friendly is attracting more and more attention.The renewable energy includes the solar energy,wind power,nuclear and so on.These kinds of energy will not pollute the environment and can provide with the consistent energy.Among these types of energies,the solar energy is one of the non-polluted and popular energy.The principle of the PV generation is the photovoltaic effect.The PV panel can transfer the solar energy to the electric energy.This kind of energy is clean and will not pollute the environment.Also the source of the solar energy is quite widespread.In a PV generation system,there include the PV panel,the inverter,the grid-connected controller and so on.In a PV inversion system,the PV inverter is the most important part.It can transfer the DC voltage to the AC voltage.Different kinds of inverters have different functions and advantages.Among all the inverters,the transformer-less inverters have the advantages of small volume,low cost and high efficiency.However,they have the disadvantages of high level of leakage current.This article mainly focuses on the transformer-less inverters and proposes a family of neutral-point-clamped inverters with low leakage current.The efficiency of the proposed inverters are higher than the traditional inverters and the cost is lower.
