Diesel engine is the main propulsion plant of the ship.The performance of the diesel engine directly affects the energy efficiency of the ship.Hence it is of great significance to carry out study on energy consumption and emission performance during the operational process so as to improve the economical efficiency and control emission.The shipping industry has been under depression for many years.As a result,shipping companies have declined greatly in their profits and even suffered from severe losses.In order to bring down operating costs and enhance market competitiveness,as well as comply with the increasingly stringent requirements regulated by the MARPOL Convention,it is necessary to improve the working conditions of the diesel engine,and reduce pollutant emission and fuel consumptions.The structural parameters and operating environment of diesel engine are constantly changing during operation,so are its working conditions.This paper is to explore the changing pattern of the main performance parameters of diesel engine by means of simulation and experiment.Using MATLAB / Simulink to simulate the actual working conditions of the diesel engine will help to understand the changing pattern of the performance parameters,provide guidance to the operation and management of diesel engines and improve the economical efficiency and emission performance.This paper takes6300 ZDZC diesel engine manufactured by Zibo Diesel Engine Factory as the object of study,and analyzes the working performance and influencing factors of the diesel engine.The test bench is built and the mathematical model method is established.The simulation software MATLAB / Simulink is used to model the diesel engine.The simulation model is calibrated by bench test data,and a more accurate simulation model is obtained.With the help of the established simulation model,this paper simulates the changing pattern of the main performance parameters under partial load.It also analyzes the effects on fuel consumption by the revolution,load and advance angle of fuel injection with combination of experimental data.In the aspect of EEOI index,this paper also discusses methods to reduce fuel consumption and improve energy efficiency in marine engineering management.
