At present, the braking mode of all the high-speed EMU trains in various countries is electric pneumatic braking. The deceleration control method is most widely used among such braking systems. There are mainly two important influencing factors on the control effect of the deceleration control method, i.e. the train's running speed and the brake handle level.According to these two factors, the train's brake control unit determines the target deceleration and figures out the braking force which should be applied. If the train's running speed changes continuously, then both the target deceleration and target braking force will change accordingly,even if the driver controller is at the same level. When designing the braking systems of high-speed MU trains, the first thing to be considered is to determine the deceleration and emergency braking distance, so to speak. The main reason is that these two factors are the most primary parameters to describe the trains' braking capacity and calculate the operation safety. Besides, determination of the deceleration and emergency braking distance is also of great significance to railway signaling, and is closely related to the effective progress of transportation organization. At present, determination of the deceleration and emergency braking distance is not an easy thing to do. The braking method adopted by the MU train, the overall configuration of the braking system, the braking mode used during braking, base of the MU train's configuration, as well as the material and structure of the braking device are all important influencing factors on their determination.Through sorting out the design factors which influence the deceleration of MU trains,this thesis has analyzed the function of various factors in deceleration design, and concluded how the corresponding deceleration design should be adjusted due to these factors during deceleration design.Taking the CRH380B EMU as the model, the emergency braking deceleration curve of the CRH380B EMU is calculated by collating the corresponding parameters of the CRH380B EMU. In order to make full use of adhesion, to minimize the braking distance, this paper gives the current method can be taken to increase the adhesion and to illustrate. In addition to the realization of higher speed braking deceleration design,introduced two kinds of non-adhesive braking mode. In this paper, the actual application effect of CRH380B EMU is analyzed, and the optimization suggestions are put forward.Compared with countries with advanced railway technology, our nation is slightly weaker in the deceleration of MU trains. Firstly, the deceleration realized in China is smaller than developed countries. Secondly, we have less empirical data in deceleration design and have not formed a systematic and detailed design method. Therefore, through research and analysis to digest the design ideas of MU trains at home and abroad is of great significance to(form a design method for MU trains' deceleration that adapts to China's situations).
