Steel structure has many advantages, such as light weight, good mechanical property, construction speed, etc.it is more and more applied in the construction of super long span and super tall buildings. However,in the Northbridge earthquake and the Kobe earthquake,a large number of steel structure nodes have been destroyed, many scholars have proposed a new type of node, and the node damage evaluation of different indicators. In order to discuss the similarities and differences of node damage evaluation, the advantages of different forms of improved nodes are analyzed, and the influence of welding defects on the fatigue damage of joints is discussed. The work of this paper mainly includes the following four aspects:(1)Different kinds of damage index model based on different independent variables are summarized, and 6 different damage index models, which are based on the combination of energy, strain and energy, are selected to analyze the different forecasting processes in the same node.(2)The paper analyzes the different structures of the different structures of the United States, and introduces the latest "strong" type of nodes, and compares the mechanical properties of the 8 different nodes, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of different nodes from different perspectives, and provides reference for engineering design.(3)An analysis is made on the improved type of welded hole made by Japanese scholars and scholars in our country. In order to provide reference for engineering application, the hysteretic behavior of different forms of welded joint and the cumulative damage of nodes in different forms are discussed in depth by comparing the three aspects of the load bearing capacity, hysteretic behavior and damage index of the beam column node model and the standard welded hole.(4)In order to understand the influence of welding defects on the joints damage, and the typical test of beam column joints at home and abroad, the influence of different position and size of welding residues and cracks on the damage of joints under cyclic loading is analyzed.
