Analysis And Research On Restorative Sound And Visual Environmental Elements

Nowadays,with the speeding up of the pace of life,people are under a lot of fatigue and stress,which has brought serious impact physically and mentally.Meanwhile our daily work and learning environment are filled with all kinds of noise,they have already hindered normal rest,study and work,and have added to the fatigue and stress,which has caused more serious harm to people's physical and mental health,so people urgently need a way to relieve fatigue and pressure to restore spirit.Thus,the concept of "restorative environment" is put forward,and the current "restorative" research is mainly about the visual scene and has not involved the acoustical aspects.The aim of this study is to obtain the types and the characteristics of the restorative sound and restorative visual signal by conducting the subjective evaluation laboratory experiment about sound elements and visual elements.Research found the preference of sound of people through the form of questionnaire and depth interview on the spot.And through recording sound signals on the scene and extracting them from the sound library,several signal sound clips were obtained,then subjective experiments were conducted in a semi-anechoic chamber and thus the preference of sound in the laboratory environment was gotten.After the analysis of the result of the experiment,the study found that in the lab environment and on the scene,the preference of sound was consistent.The experiment sounds were through screen and modulation,then three subjective evaluation experiment were conducted to study the influence of types of sound,forms of sound presentation on restorative effect.Afterwards the restorative effect of audiovisual interaction are discussed taking the open office space as an example.The first experiment was sound sorts experiment,the results showed that when the sharpness was large,fluctuation strength was large,the loudness was small,then the sound would have a good preference,which would have a better influence on the relief to fatigue and annoyance.At the same time,tension,fatigue and annoyance were interrelated and they had a similar effect of evaluation;fatigue and annoyance were highly interrelated,if the experiment was limited by certain conditions and factors,such as experimental period,annoyance evaluation could replace fatigue evaluation.The second experiment was about sound presentation way,the results showed that in five different presentation ways,the promotion of people's work efficiency wasnot obvious,at the same time,tension,fatigue,annoyance,high pressure,low pressure had no obvious relief effect.The third experiment was audiovisual interaction experiment,the results showed that different types of audiovisual interaction style had significant differences on the factors of fatigue and annoyance,and in the restorative effects of fatigue and annoyance,the role of the sound signals was stronger than visual signals.High degree of sound preference matching high degree of preference of visual image had better restorative effect,low degree of sound preference matching high degree of preference of visual image,compared with matching low degree of preference of visual image might have worse restorative effect.This paper is the exploration of "restorative" sound elements,hoping that certain restorative effect rules could be found,which could be applied to practice,and then good restorative environment from the aspects of auditory sense and visual sense,and then it would provide a new train of thought to the sound environment design and architectural design.
