With the development of vehicle to vehicle/vehicle to road communication technology,the vehicle platoon cruising control technology based on vehicle to vehicle communication technology is becoming a hotspot of current research in ITS.Considering both road traffic safety and efficiency,it can achieve the goal of increasing traffic capacity and easing traffic congestion with organizing vehicles into multi-lanes,flexible platoon by using cooperative maneuvers under different traffic conditions.Nowadays,the current situation of vehicle platoon cruising control technology is still focused on vehicle control and assistance technologies.Although the vehicle to vehicle communication is more and more popular,vehicle to vehicle communication is under tested with the time-delay packet-dropout and interruption of communication.In this paper,the cruise control strategy under communication interruption is established by using the switching control method,the main content is shown as follows:Frist of all,the structure of the controller is analyzed based on the distributed controller,then the adaptive cruise control(ACC)model of local sensor system and cooperative adaptive cruise control model(CACC)based on vehicle communication are proposed according to the controller's different ways of information acquisition and the time delay.Secondly,the string stability of vehicle platoon is studied,and the necessary conditions for a vehicle controller to satisfy the stable operation are obtained according to the stability of information acquisition between the traditional sensors and the vehicle to vehicle communication.The simulation results are compared with the theoretical analysis.Thirdly,the communication interruption is taken into consideration when the vehicle platoon information is transmitted by wireless network.By analyzing the characteristics of one vehicle in the platoon with the communication interrupted,the strategy of platoon cruise switching control based on two ways of information acquisition is proposed.And then the vehicle switching strategy for a platoon is designed.Finally,the string stability of the whole platoon is.analyzed based on the changing of the single vehicle controller,and the strategy of platoon grouping and group controlling are established.The effectiveness of the platoon cruise controller with switching the function is verified by the software simulation based on Matlab/Simulink.
