With the rise of tourism,folk tourism graduallygoes into the people’s attention.Contemporary landscape designers have been exploring how to combine folk culture with landscape design.Based on literature reviews,field researches and case studies,this paper studies the development and refinement of folk culture,the development prospect of folk landscape,the planning and design of folk landscape and gave conclusions to the application of folk culture in landscape.The study conclusions were as follows:1.Folk landscape design should deeply explore the elements of folk culture basedon the protection and inherition of folk culture with local features so that the landscape can carry and express the most unique folk culture.2.Aimed at how to solve the problem of the protection and inheritance of folk cultural landscape,this study put forward some design principles that could be used for reference,including the principle of protection and inheritance,the principle of suiting measures to local conditions,the principle of combination of art and function,sustainable development principle and expression ways of folk cultural symbols applied in landscape,namely,display,symbol,exaggeration,reconstruction,innovation and so on.3.This study deeply excavated the folkways of building,living,farming,diet,craftsmen and so on in Qinba style town in the folk landscape design of Qinba,Shiquan,Ankang city,Shaanxi province and designed a landscape plan which conformed to the folk landscape development of Qinba style town.According to the development demand of folk village,focused on designing Qinba folkways experience garden,this study showed the folk culture of Zhongba folk custom village from many aspects and angles.
