The welding is a complex process which refer to multi-disciplinary fields,including the arc physics,heat transfer,metallurgy,mechanics and so on.Nowadays,the research methods of welding deformation mainly include the three below:Theory method,Experimental method and Numerical simulation method.Due to the advantages in the economic cost,operation efficiency and availability,the numerical simulation method became the main analysis methods of the welding research today.This paper focuses on the application of numerical simulation method in the research of welding deformation with exploring and summarying the related regular of it,and put forward the improvement methods and feasible Suggestions.The main contents as follows:1.The inherent strain method is the main analytical approach in researching the residual deformation of large welded components.In the paper,a series of experiments of multi-layer plate welding joint has been done,and Compare the measured results of welding deformation to the simulation results of thermal elastic-plastic method and inherent strain method.Results show the inherent strain method is reliable in predicting of welding deformation,besides,with the ensuring of accuracy,can greatly save computation time.It is very suitable for using in analysis of the large welding structure.2.The heat input and thickness size are the main factors influencing the inherent strain.The welding speed is the parameters most commonly used to control the heat input.The thickness is the problems must be considered in designing process.In this paper,a series of T-welded joint has been simulated.Through the contrast and analysis of the calculation results,Found out that there are good linear relationship between the welding speed and the horizontal,vertical and equivalent inherent strain and the influence regular of thickness size to the residual deformation.3.The way and position of inherent stain applied are the key points to ensure the accuracy.There are three assumptions schemes of position that inherent strain applied are calculated and compared.Found out that,when take the area that,take the weld center line as axis,the half of the weld square edge as radius,as the inherent strain applying area,The calculation results is more close to the thermal elastic-plastic's.4.Research on the residual deformation of large welding structure in the final,use the inherent strain method to analyze the welding deformation of bogie side frame and influence of welding process,and put forward the better Direction and sequence of welding to effectively reduce the welding residual deformation.
