The research on static and dynamic feature of various installation length and different phase of yaw damper is performed.The oil temperature influence on dynamic feature of yaw damper and time-domain characteristic of low temperature are analyzed.Finally,the oil temperature effect on vehicle dynamic performance is analyzed based on SIMPACK.It could be concluded that installation length has little impact on static feature as huge effect on dynamic feature by installation length experiment of yaw damper.Therefore,Maxwell model is not effective as analyzing the installation length influence on vehicle dynamic performance.Pay attention to remain installation length unchanged while doing other performance test of damper to avoid installation length impact.It could be concluded that the static feature of old yaw damper has no obvious change relative to new damper as huge change on dynamic feature through test.Therefore,Maxwell model is not effective as analyzing different stage damper effect on vehicle dynamic performance.Analyzing static feature is not effective while checking yaw damper after working for a long time.Moreover,dynamic feature is needed to be considered.It could be concluded that the sensitivity.of different oil type is various through test.And the energy absorbed by yaw damper,the dynamic damping and stiffness of damper increase as the temperature decreases in the proper range of oil temperature,while decrease as the temperature decreases when it exceeds the proper range of oil temperature.Low temperature on yaw damper is more affected than high temperature.Dynamic damping increased maximum and then decreased with increasing of frequency as dynamic stiffness increased maximum and then remained unchanged.Oil temperature on dynamic damping is more affected than dynamic stiffness.The temperature of yaw damper would increase a little after working for 140minutes as ordinary temperature.Therefore,dynamic feature of yaw damper would not change a lot.The damper could not work normally without the range of oil temperature and can not work usual for a short time.The simulation results showed that the critical speed increases as the temperature decreases in the proper range of oil temperature,while decreases as the temperature decreases when it exceeds the proper range of oil temperature.Low temperature on critical speed is more affected than high temperature.Moreover,there was not obvious effect of the oil temperature of the yaw damper on vehicle stability and safety.The low temperature stability and safety precede high temperature in the proper range of oil temperature.
