Ganlan-style residence is the ancient arcitecture with a long history,which is an important part of Chinese ancient architecture culture.Ganlan-style residence is mainly distributed in northwest of Yunnan,western of Yunnan,and westsouth of Yunnan areas,the seismic fortification intensities of area distributing Ganlan-style residence are more than 7 degrees,but the minority nationality regions are underdeveloped,the villagers have no sense of seismic fortification,most of such buildings lack effective seismic construction measures.The frequency and the strength of earthquake disasters in Yunnan province are all very high,and the worst-hit areas are always in the rural area.Most of Ganlan-style residence which have experienced strong earthquakes show the different level of structural tilt and structural damage,it is difficult to ensure that these houses survived the subsequent earthquake and there are a great deal of seismic hazard among these houses.Therefore,in view of the seismic performance and the measures of reinforcement and reconstruction of Ganlan-style residence,the author carry out experimental study and finite element numerical simulation analysis,then put forward meaningful advice of strengthening and upgrading of the structure with the help of the results of research above.Specific work content and the conclusion have the following several aspects:(1)By on-the-spot investigation and local villagers interviews,the author found numberous insufficency in traditional Ganlan-style residence and a large number of emerging brick column Ganlan-style residence,the shear bearing capacity of the brick column Ganlan-style residence is insufficient to the requirements for seismic resistance of 8 degrees in this area.(2)This paper regards one brick column Ganlan-style residence as the research object,we design the three original size brick wood timber post and beam systems specimens strengthened by angle steels out packed and CFRP to carry out low-cyclic reversed loading experiment to study the bearing capacities,hysteresis curves of the load-displacement,the ductility of the three specimens under different reinforcement states.The experimental results showed that:the seismic performance of brick wood timber post and beam systems is poor,it shows brittle shear failure in a horizontal force.Two kinds of strengthening methods all effectively improve the structural seismic performance.(3)Nonlinear finite element analysis was carried out for the unreinforced specimen and specimens strengthened by angle steels out packed by using ABAQUS,the results are in good agreement with experiment results,which proves that using ABAQUS and the concrete damage plasticity model can be effective way to make a finite element analysis for brick wood timber post and beam systems.
