Nowadays,undertheurgentcontext of energy shortage and environmental problems,low-carboneconomy is imperative and newenergydevelopmenthas attractedmuchattention.Energystoragetechnology which known as "the last kilometer" of energy utilizationisthekeyto lead ustomoveintothegreenand low-carbon future.It is the supporting technology to realizethe new energy grid-connected,distributedgeneration and smart grid.Innovation is the source and motivation of all things development.Under the current situation,scientific and technological innovation is a fundamental way of energy storage industry to achieve sustainable development.However,the attention of domestic and international scholars is not enough.Few scholars have comprehensive and systematic research in the field of energy storage technology innovation performance,let alone the track of the knowledge subgroup and the measurement of technology convergence.Based on this situation,this paper integrates themethods of scientometrical analysis,social network analysis,statistical analysis,burst detection algorithm,text mining and visualization technology to discuss the landscape and innovation performance of energy storage technology.Specifically,we have measured the whole-field of energy storage technology,the part-field of energy storage technology and the evolution trends in this field,from the overall to segmentation,layer upon layer.Firstly,this paper has measured the scientific capacity in the field of energy storage technology,which is to fully grasp the scientific research landscape of the energy storage system.The results show that scientific output have witnessed a significant increase;the scientific output and impact in the United States are dominant;China’s scientific output is at the top of the list,but its influenceis relatively insufficient.The United States has been occupying the center of scientificcooperation network across countries/regions,China has gradually become an important member of cooperation network.Phase change energy storage,superconducting magnetic energy storage and super capacitor are important research topics in the field of energy storage technology.Secondly,this thesis has measured the science landscape of physical storage,chemical storage,electromagnetic energy storage and phase change energy storage technology in multidimensional dimensions.The purpose is to grasp the science landscape of every energy storage segment of the main countries in the worldand locate the word position of China.The study shows that: the big four fields’ scientific output increases greatly.China has a strong role in the science research of the field over the 20 years.However,in future,China needs to encourage original research in order to improve the scientific influence in the field of energy storage.In addition,compared with other countries,China’s more co-authored index is higher in the field of energy storage.Lastly,this paper try toanalyse energy storage’s scientific research landscape from the overall view,in addition,defines the stability coefficient and the innovation coefficient.The results prove thatresearch questions are highly concentrated in this field.There are many hot research topics in this field,such as flywheel,lithium ion battery,super capacitor,the phase change materials and so on.Additionnally,energy storage and lithium ion battery are research fronts.By temporal evolution,thekeywords co-occurrence network of the big four energy storage fields is in obvious expansion,the innovation of the field is still in activity period.The development of energy storage technology has aroused worldwide concern.China is a rising star in this field,and the light becomes more and more lighting.But relative to the United States and other developed countries,China’s scientific influence in the field of is lower,lies in the lack of innovation rootly.Countries should try to offer a good scientific environment,encouraging scientists pay more attention to scientific and technological innovation.Thus,China will become technology powers.As the current bottleneck in the process of the energy change of technology,research and development institutions should focus on hot and frontier technologies.At the same time,the government department should make technology development strategies,and breakthroughthekeytechnology research problems.Ultimately,the core competitiveness of the field will be enhenced.
