Permanent magnet synchronous electric spindle(PMSMS)is a kind of widely used electric spindle. Its benefits are high efficiency and low loss. This dissertation researches some type of permanent magnet synchronous motor spindle.Three dimensional flow field of the PMSMS is simulated by the method of numerical simulation analysis. The internal flow condition of the PMSMS and the fan are analyzed. There are two research models of the subject: internal flow field of PMSMS and flow field of the fan. They are modeled by UG software. They are divided into grid based on the ICEM software. The partial differential equation was discrete by finite volume method.Based on the three-dimensional time averaged SN-equation and the k-? turbulent model, the SIMPLE algorithm were selected in order to numerically simulate the flow field. The speed and rotor are set by the MRF model.Internal flow field model of the electric spindle includes three parts: the air gap with groove, air region of two different shape ends. The rotation air-gap part is set to rotation area.Air regions of ends with windings are set to stationary area. The flow field is calculated by using ANSYS/FLUENT,and the noise distribution and velocity distribution of the motor were obtained. The analysis results show that the air flow inside PMSMS has a certain influence on the turbulence of the electric spindle.Rotation of the groove in the air gap of the electric spindle can disturb the rotating the air of ends.Thereby, noise is produced. The model of noise includes two parts: the flow field of fan and the flow field of duct. The flow field of fan is set to rotation area. The flow field of duct is set to stationary area.Coupling field of noise and air flow are calculated by ANSYS/FLUENT.The area of high turbulence intensity and noise is the contact area of the fan and duct. The distribution of the sound pressure level in different locations is obtained by calculation. The relationship between fan speed and noise is determined.
