In the past few years,because of the rapid development of China’s communications industry,the number and the size of communication base stations are rapidly expansed.If the equipment in base station is divided into communication equipment 、 air conditioning equipment and other equipment.The consumption of communication equipment accounts for50%-60 % of the total energy consumption,the air conditioning equipment may account for 30 %-50 %,and the others accounts less than 4% of the total energy consumption.Cost of electricity accounts about 1/3 of the total cost of the telecommunication base station.And air conditioning electricity costs up to 60% of total electricity costs.That means the energy consumption of the air conditioning system accounts for a large part of the total energy consumption and means a lot.The main way to reduce the energy consumption of air-conditioning system is to reduce the building energy consumption;Secondly,fully used of natural cold source can largely reduce the energy consumption of refrigeration system;Finally,optimize the air distribution of refrigeration area can reduce the per unit area’s refrigerating capacity.For the purpose of Energy Saving and Emission Reduction,This paper taking a typical base station in Anqing as the research object,the research were discussed from three aspects.Using eQUEST energy consumption simulation software for building energy consumption simulation.The influence of choice different building envelope on base station power consumption is discussed.In the paper,the air-conditioning cooling load of the base station in Shenyang,Beijing,Anqing and Shenzhen cities is simulated with the different structure of the envelope and the power of the base station.The better selection of the outer building envelope of the base station under different climatic conditions and different internal loads is discussed.In recent years,separate heat pipe for the base station refrigeration system has become a research hotspot.In this paper,new algorithm is proposed to calculate heat pipe heat using natural cold quantity.Expect to contribute to energy-saving emission reduction of base stations.Then,the Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)be used to analyze the Anqing′s typical base station airflow.The phenomenon of the airflow short circuit is appeared and natural cold source not being utilized fully.The influence of different factors on the base station air distribution is discussed by simulation.Such as the size of the air supply outlet,thechoice of small flow rate and large temperature difference or large flowrate and small temperature difference in air supply systems,and the influence of the partition between the communication equipment on the airflow organization of the base station.It is expected that a more reasonable way of airflow in the base station will be obtained to achieve the purpose of reducing the refrigeration capacity.
