Research On Yunnan Typical Traditional Courtyard Houses Based On The Environment-behavior Studies

Courtyard house is an indispensable form of Yunnan traditional houses,also is a typical representative of the Yunnan traditional residential culture under Chinese influence.As technology updates,the needs,routines,choices,behavioral patterns of people has changed as the globalization,urbanization,modernization progressing.At the same time,Human-environment relationship in the traditional village has gradually disintegrated.As one of the important resources today,Yunnan Courtyard house is not only an important living place for native residents,but also a characteristic gene and cultural carrier under realistic social background.Because of the rapid development of science and technology,not only the development of traditional houses is impacted,but also the material and spiritual values are faced with the dilemma of inheritance and development.It is necessary to explore the characteristics and regularities of the contemporary residential space through the interdisciplinary perspective,as to discover new problems and explore new research methods during the development and inheritance of contemporary residents.This thesis is based on the theory of Environmental-Behavior,from the user’s perspective,take several kinds of typical courtyard house like "Yikeyin(One-seal-style dwelling)”,“Three Chambers and One Screen Wall","Four Pavilions and Five Open Yards" in central Yunnan area as the research object,through observation,method of drawing cognitive mapping,questionnaire method and other technical methods,be aimed at doing in-depth analysis of user behavior in the outside and the whole space inside of Yunnan courtyard house at present,summed up the applicability transformation patterns and rules of the whole contemporary courtyard space.According to the needs of users,record the user’s behavior frequency,regularity and characteristics,and summarize the scope of the using space in Yunnan,the practical function and the choice trend.Sort out how the Yunnan traditional house adapting to people’s life,working and learning rules and the other existing problems.In order to summarize the applicability principle and the expression framework of "contemporary Yunnan courtyard houses",providing references and suggestions for the utilization and development of traditional residents and emphasizing the sustainable development of environment and architecture,at the same time,it puts forward the necessity of the environmental behavior practice in the study of residents.
