The nuclear power plant on the ocean due to external disturbance force to do complex motion as six degree of freedom. Including translational motion: swaying, surging and heaving, rotary motion: rolling, pitching and yawing. The ocean conditions are simplified to rolling,heaving and pitching motion by the actual characteristics on ocean motion.The study object of this thesis is the IP200 which used plate fuel. Twelve once-through steam generators (OTSG) are used around the core as cyclic annular. Four main pumps lie on the outlet of the OTSG. The electric heating pressurizer is used. The IP200 is Fuel efficient,maneuverability strong, and the natural circulation ability is relatively high. It can be applied on mobile power plants on the ocean or the field of seawater desalinization.The study tools of this thesis is THEATRe-ocean which is based on the real-time simulate Program THEATRe code of GSE and is modified by adding module calculating the effect of ocean motion. The THEATRe-ocean can be Coupled with other simulate Program of GSE on SimExec to Realize the function of real-time simulate. This thesis studies the steady state operating characteristic of the full power and the transient state operating characteristic of the reducing power of IP200. Verified the dependability of THEATRe-ocean real-time simulation for IP200 by comparing with the result of simulate calculate of RELAP5/4.0.In this thesis, THEATRe-ocean is used to study on the natural circulation flow characteristics of IP200 on ocean motion and on motionless. On motionless condition, the mainly study is the effect of power, the set point of average temperature of core, inertia of pump, torque of pump. resistance of pump, conversion strategy, the operator intervene on the mainly thermal hydraulic property parameters such as flow rate, power, average temperature of core, temperature of inlet and outlet of core, temperature of steam on conversion between natural circulation and forced circulation. On ocean motion condition, the mainly study is the effect of the amplitude and period of rolling motion, the amplitude and period of heaving motion, the angle of pitching on the capacity of natural circulation. Meanwhile, the effect of the rolling motion, the heaving motion the pitching motion on the mainly thermal hydraulic property parameters such as flow rate, power, average temperature of core, temperature of inlet and outlet of core, temperature of steam on conversion between natural circulation and forced circulation is studied. Summarizing the law of effects of ocean motion on the capacity of natural circulation. Obtaining the conversion between the forced circulation and natural circulation limit on ocean motion. The reactor safety operation processing between forced circulation and natural circulation of mutual security conversion in ocean conditions is proposed.The simulate results show that the additional pressure drop of rolling, the additional pressure drop of heaving, the variation of gravitational pressure drop are the main factors of effect of ocean motion on natural circulation flow. In rolling motion or in heaving motion, the natural circulation flow varies with the rolling motion and heaving motion, and flow rate of primary side of each OTSG is not uniform. The pitching motion make the natural circulation flow rate decreased. The ocean motion on the effect of natural circulation is greater than the effect on forced circulation. It is unsafety from forced circulation to natural circulation at high power levels.The coolant flow will be back if the operation convrt from forced circulation to natural circulation at low power levels. It is not conducive to the buildt of a natural circulation.Selecting a reasonable strategies or operator intervention can control the core flow rate, the core power in the reasonable range, and ensure the safety operate of the nuclear reactor.The THEATRe-ocean which was built in this thesis can be used as the pressurized water reactor thermal hydraulic analysis tools on ocean motion. The study results of this thesis can provide the basis for further study of passive residual heat removeal, conversion strategy between forced circulation and natural circulation, safety analysis of natural circulation on ocean motion.It can provide technical support for the IP200 in the further application of ocean platform.
