As a precision, portable acoustic positioning equipment,the ultra short base line positioning system has a very broad application prospects.The testing methods for ultra short base line positioning system mainly depend on marine trial,lake trial and pool trial. Shortcomings exist in marine trial and lake trial method as the high cost and long cycle and pool trial exists limitation.In response to this situation, a simulation and test device for ultra short base line positioning system is designed in this thesis.The main function of this equipment is to test the ultra short base line positioning system.It can reflect the positioning accuracy of the system,reception time of each array element and the theoretical effective range of the systems.The design of this software has accumulated experience for the future development of test software for ultra short base line positioning system.The design of this software is depend on the Labwindows software.The software is integrated package.Running and stopping the program,parameter settings and results showing can be control by the simulation / display and control interface. Multi-threading technology is used to optimizer the program in the software.Firstly, the basic principles of USBL positioning system is introduced in this paper. And then the accuracy theory on the surveying and the error ellipse theory are introduced to describe the positioning accuracy of the system calculated by the error ellipse formula according to the errors of various input parameters.The bellhop software is used to simulation marine channel.The geodetic coordinates of each array element are calculated according to the known GPS information,compass information and installation parameters.And then obtained the receive time and simulation signals of each element.Finally,the simulation signals are transmitted to the deck unit of USBL positioning systems by controlling DA card.The software can read a certain format of waveform data file obtained from the sea or lake test,display waveform and transmit the simulation signals to deck unit of USBL positioning systems by controlling DA card.At last,the software is tested and the result is well.The software basically meet the design requirements.
