Fire makes a huge distuction to humen society, it not only seriouly threatens the safety of humanbeing, but also causes a great loss of social wealth . However, a large amount of data indicates that it is not the fire source area that makes the most serious harm,but the flowing gas. High temperature gas not only contains large amounts of soot which countercheck the sight of humenbeing, but also contains the toxic substances to let people suffocation, all of these will stop the speed of excape.The corridor connects the rooms and the stairway, it is the only way for humenbeing to excape through. In recent years ,scholars have conducted a lit of researches on the gas flowing characteristics in the corridor.The corridor plays a very important role to exhausting people safely, so some research on stip corridor's smoke exhausting is carried out . In this paper ,the software FDS which uses the large eddy simulation method is used to simulate the nature exhaust and the mechanical exhaust in the corridor of the dormitory.First,the building's numerical modle is built,a suitable heat release rate and the place of the fire source is setted according to the characteristics of the building.Then, the characteristics of the nature exhaust in corridor is studied, through comparing multiple calculation conditions, the affections of the nature exhaust's effection made by the form of the window,the location of the window, outdoor temperatures, the direction of wind and the velocity of the wind are analysised.The results showed that,except the high wind velocity condition, natural exhaust can not meet the requirement for evacuation. When the area of the window is the same, higher the outside windows are ,better natural exhaust does;when the outdoor wind and the corridor are in the same direction ,the effction of the nature exhaust becomes better.Finally, the mechanical exhaust in corridor is simulated. The parameters of the mechanical exhausting system is setted according to the "fire protection designing of high buildings (GB50045-2005)".The affections of the mechanical exhaust's effection made by the height of windows and the exhaust ports, the number of the exhaust ports, the position of the exhaust port are studied. The simulation results shows that opening the window in the corridor can make sure the mechanical exhaust system's effection; the exhaust ports should not be lower than three meters from the ground; the height of the window should not be higher than 1.6 meter; the proper amount of smoke is 50m3/h for this building.
