With the background of the worldwide implementation of safety inspection and assessment of nuclear power plant after Fukushima accident caused by earthquake, this paper chose the safety study of nuclear power plant under earthquake as research topic, which is based on the principle attaching equal importance to the deterministic and probabilistic safety assessment. According the research and development status of seismic safety of GEN- ? +nuclear power plant (M310) at home and abroad, the synthetic factory building (containing spent fuel storage pool) was chosen as this research object, which was the thesis topic -Study on seismic safety assessment of K building in GEN- ? + nuclear island (M 310).Starting from the design and construction codes, this paper combed and studied the safety requirements of K building in GEN- ? nuclear island according to the French standard and that in GEN-?+ nuclear island in current national standard, respectively, which established the safety criterion for the subsequent seismic safety analysis based on the deterministic and probabilistic methods.The first was the seismic study on deterministic safety analysis. The seismic safety of K building in GEN-?+ nuclear island (M310) according to the design basis in original French standard and current national standard was rechecked. Then the seismic bearing capacity analysis was conducted based on the selected analytical method, analysis software and model,in order to obtain the floor response spectrum and the material quantities, which was used for the comparison between the response spectrum determined by the current standard and that determined by original French standard, rechecking the safety of the equipments and components on each floor. Moreover, the material requirements of factory buildings, which were calculated in accordance with peak acceleration of SL-2 anchored to 0.20g and 0.30g respectively, were analyzed, giving the research conclusions for the seismic design and safety margin.The second is the seismic study on probabilistic safety analysis. The research was conducted from the following aspects: seismic vulnerability analysis principle, the determination of seismic performance indexes under different levels, dynamic elastic-plastic analysis method of seismic demand and the selection of earthquake acceleration time history,obtaining the IDA curve of K building and seismic fragility curve in statistical sense. Based on the above analysis,the failure probabilities exceeding different performance levels,including well preservation, slight damaged, moderate damage, severe damage and destruction, were given according to the corresponding acceleration determined(PGA),recognizing the vulnerable zone of structures under different failure modes, to provide the probability data input for PSA seismic analysis of nuclear power plant, which lead to the achievement of the seismic probabilistic design evaluation using performance-based method(PMB) and assure the total safety of K building in nuclear island.
