As the main load-bearing components of cable-stayed bridge,technology of cables vibration control is of great important to daily operation and service life of cable-stayed bridge.This paper introduces the vibration form and the method of vibration control,and summarizes the theory of passive control of cables which is widely used in engineering,this paper analyzes the research status of electromagnetic damper and self-powered MR damper applied in stayed-cable vibration control,problems faced yet.In order to improve the efficiency of the traditional passive control of cable vibration,this paper first introduced the concept of the apparent mass from mechanical field,then established a specific theoretical model of apparent mass effect,verified the correctness of theoretical model and application value in engineering through the single degree of freedom frequency change test and related engineering examples.Designed and produced the apparent mass electromagnetic damper,Raised the model of apparent mass electromagnetic damper mechanical combined with the existing rotary motor electromagnetic damper theory in research group,and verified its correctness through elaboration test.In this paper,a scaled model cable is established in the laboratory,and the experimental study is carried out to test vibration of the model cable with apparent mass electromagnetic damper and self-powered MR damper.The apparent mass electromagnetic damper aspect: broke through the maximum additional modal damping ratio(0.5%)bound of traditional passive control when damper install at 1% position near the anchor,proposed the scheme of cable vibration control with electromagnetic damper based on the apparent mass effect,improved the cable vibration effect greatly,test results mean that installation position of dampers can be lower at the identical cable damping ability,the project has a certain guiding role;Self-powered MR damper aspect: Verify the feasibility of self-powered MR damper damping of the cable system,different working conditions are ranged by installation site of the power supply device and MR damper,the damping effect of all conditions are contrasted,and the tests indicate that the damping effect of the power supply device and MR damper installed at different side is the best,it can give full play to the adaptive characteristics for multi-modals of cable vibration control.
