The elastic plate is a usual component in the field of civil engineering especially in building and bridge construction.Elastic plate could be damaged,when it was constructed or was in service.Calamitous consequence would be caused by earth quake,corrode and fatigue load,if the damage of the elastic plate was accumulated to a dangerous level.Therefore,it is essential and necessary to study the problem of how to identify the damage of elastic plate.The study on structural damage theory is highly concerned by engineers all over the world,while it has still not been solved perfectly.In this paper,a damage identification method based on the combination of modal parameters is proposed.The main tasks are as follow:(1)The development of structural damage identification technology and some mainly used damage identification methods are introduced,the advantages and disadvantages of each method are analyzed.(2)The concepts of transfer function and frequency response function are introduced,the data of frequency and mode of vibration is obtained via MATLAB,and the data is compared with the one that is obtained via ANSYS.(3)A new labeled amount is concluded through theoretical derivation.The consequence obtained with the new labeled amount is compared with the data of the other relevant methods.(4)Based on plates that two opposite edges are simply supported and fixed,the data of frequency and mode of vibration are obtained by MATLAB.The damage of structure is simulated by changing the stiffness of the element.The figure of labeled amount in different damage situation is used to prophet the position of damaged part.This method is proved to be effective and efficient.In this paper,it is proved that the method that based on combination of modal parameters can efficiently identify the damage position of plate structure.Meanwhile,this method is referential for similar research.
