In modern society,whether it is used by industry or civilization which require more high-quality,more reliable,stable performance better power.However,the transmission line,unlike other power system components,is exposed to the environment,and the probability of failure is greater than that of other components of the power system.And in all possible transmission line failure,Short circuit fault accounted for a large proportion.when the line occurs in such a failure,the instantaneous line current will multiply,causing the line fever,resulting in unnecessary losses.In order to reduce the personnel damage and economic loss caused by the failure,locate the fault location quickly and help the maintenance personnel to quickly reach the place which need to be repaired Therefore,the location of the short-circuit fault quickly which is necessary to the whole power system Running safety.In this dissertation,the short-circuit fault location method of double-ended lines which has been used to process the line parameter data of the circuit collectors with high-speed processing chip ARM at both ends of the transmission line.After the data has been processed,the data will be sent to the microprocessor to obtain the fault point distance.To achieve the positioning of line failure.The synchronous timing device of the substation provides accurate timing function to ensure sampling accuracy.High-speed processing chip ARM can improve the speed of data processing,to meet the requirements of rapid processing.Optical fiber Ethernet to achieve high-speed data transmission,increased efficiency,accuracy and stability.In the design of this study,the short-circuit fault of the transmission line adopts the double-end positioning and the modern high-speed processor,and then has benn reached the requirement of the design through the fast transmission of the optical fiber communication.At the end,the algorithm is simulated.
