With the rapid railway industry development in China,the train running speed and running mileage have been greatly improved,making it more convenient for travelers.However,at the same time,it also brings higher requirements for the running safety.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop an efficient positioning system to ensure the train safety.In recent years,with the development of science and technology,positioning and navigation technology have also been developed in the long run.At present,the most widely used positioning technology is GPS(Positioning System Global),which had achieved great effect of positioning in the military and civilian field.But in the weak signal areas,the positioning effect of the system is poor,or even cannot work.This flaw can be compensated by using network location service in the GPRS(General Packet Radio Service).Based on this,this paper proposes a train positioning system combining GPS and GPRS.The system can not only expand the positioning range,but also can greatly improve the positioning accuracy,meanwhile,by using the electronic map,the train track can be dynamically displayed on it so that we can monitor the train in real time.This paper focuses on the disadvantages of train positioning system of nowadays,analyzing the principle of GPS and GPRS,system construction and using features.Combining the advantages of two advanced technology,constructing the positioning technology used complementarily,the technology can be applied in train positioning.It designs and completes the imbedded hardware of train positioning system including MCU module design,GPS module choosing and design,GPRS module design and serial port module design to accomplish the monitoring and positioning in real time.It is helpful for control centre to command and dispatch the train,so the operating safety of train can be ensured.It researches and accomplishes the GPS data filtering processing and map matching algorithm.GPS and GPRS positioning data can be sent back to monitoring at service centre by mobile network,filtering algorithm and 0map matching algorithm processing can accomplish high train positioning accuracy.It designs and completes service software platform of train positioning system,according to the function module division,all kinds of software module are analyzed systematically and designed in detail,accomplishing service software and data frame.Finally,system function test is applied on software and hardware design above,there are good results for positioning test in Yinchuan locomotive depot,Yinshuiqiao locomotive depot and Yinchuan railway.Combined with GPRS technology and GPS technology,the train positioning system designed in this paper has high precision and wide applicability by positioning data filtering and map matching algorithm.By using the system for the railway of Yinchuan andYingshuiqiao locomotive depot,it shows that the system can achieve good positioning effect and realize the train monitoring in real-time.
