From the development of human history so far,very important role played by water.At present,the urban waterfront landscape design construction and development is very important part,urban waterfront development has become an indispensable beautiful landscape,it is a must for people to participate in social activities,as well as an evaluation of the city’s waterfront landscape is an important reference for the city’s image.Now people in a fast-paced lifestyle,more and more eager to get physical and mental relaxation,and waterfront landscape design mixed phenomenon,to some extent weaken the people’s enthusiasm,people are more eager to be able to bring the waterfront landscape regional,secure,comfortable,hydrophilic,ecological good feelings and experiences.How to find new ideas waterfront landscape design in the new age design background,is the main problem of the current landscape design of waterfront areas exist.In this paper,the development status of waterfront landscape at home and abroad is summarized,which are expounded from the theory and practice of waterfront landscape respectively.Secondly,the related theory of regional waterfront landscape formation is analyzed.From the theory of sustainable development,the theory of place spirit and ecology Design theory from three angles,based on the analysis of domestic and international excellent waterfront landscape design case.The third part of this paper is the understanding of the basic concepts and the application of the regional culture in the waterfront landscape.Finally,the design practice of this topic is the transformation of the waterfront landscape in Lanzhou Waterwheel Exposition.In the early field observation,questionnaire survey and Lanzhou Waterwheel Exposition Park,which is a multiple elements technique,is designed.Through the study of Lanzhou regional culture,in the case design part of the pottery into patterns,patterns and waterwheels Lotus shape and other elements of the waterwheel Expo Park,the optimal design of space on the "one axis,two lines,three centers" This paper brings forward the regional cultural elements,including the landscape spatial sequence design,the landscape design,landscape node design and landscape lighting design of the waterwheel Expo Park,which are embodied in the following four aspects: Configuration,Park Road pavement design,seats,trash,wall and interesting landscape sketch.Through the diversified design,it embodies the lively charm of Lanzhou ancient waterwheel culture in the present landscape design,at the same time,it reflects the regional space,humanities and times.
