As the SUV sales and the proportion of sales increasing around the world, SUV vehicles have occupies one fifth of total sales. Though SUV are more and more attractive to people with its unique advantages, the tires got burst more easily and brought about more serious accidents than other cars because of the weight、the width of the body and other reasons, the spare tire accompanied just plays a role in driving on only after SUV stopped securely after tire bursts. Installing the SUV with the internal support can reduce the burst’ risk greatly and help the vehicle drive a long distance.The internal support is the most important part of the safety tire, size parameters are projected on available wheel hub according to the world design requirements for the internal support, considering installing space restriction and tire deformation etc. Then the early model of support has been designed. Based on the extreme working conditions, the ANSYS Workbench is utilized to make the initial design’ topology optimization, provide theory support and indicate the direction for the weight loss.Based on the extreme working conditions and using LS-DYNA dynamic analysis、single variable method, they could compared and selected which consist of the best size parameters of the middle beam width、height、height of incision、lightening hole and locking location,then ultimate internal support model has been worked out. Before the extreme dynamic analysis of internal support, LS-DYNA Dynamic Relaxation analysis was used to calculate support’ initial stress under different pre-tightening forces and compared with None-DR dynamic analysis results.Before tires burst, the supports are vibrating with tire under the preload of the bolts.Utilizing ANSYS software to conduct preload modal analysis, each order natural frequency could be achieved. Afterwards it should be compared with tire inherent frequency to inspect whether there will be resonance phenomenon. After tire bursts, based on the preload model analysis with the support’ harmonic response analysis, maximum deformation could be calculated and get corresponding order frequencyTo get more understanding about internal in force, LS-DYNA software should be used to conduct the SUV car’s dynamic analysis to inspect whether internal support could be fastened to the hub steadily under normal and high speed, also each part of the internal support produced by centrifugal force and pre-tightening force could be calculated. Similarly, to analyze the case the SUV tire burst, check the strength of the internal support and observe each moment deflection of the SUV after burst.
