With the development of industry, the need of gas turbine is toward to high power, high efficiency, large surge margin. This means a big request has been put forward to the aerodynamic design of gas turbine, especially to the compressor, which is one of the important components of gas turbine. In this paper, a LP compressor of a cold cycle gas turbine has been designed, which made up of mixed flow compressor structure. Then, a three-dimensional numerical simulation has been done. And in the last the results of simulation has been analyzed, and a suggestion will be put forward to optimize the design.First of all, according to the basic design principle and method of compressor aerodynamics, the first part is designed for the axial flow unit of compressor. In this part, the axial compressor has been designed follow the objective by using the Ukraine axial compressor design software. Using the One-dimensional inverse problem design method and S2 flow design way to make the aerodynamic design. Then the blade structural has been designed based on the aerodynamic design. After dong that, modeling the blade with the tool of Pro / ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0 software. With regard to the centrifugal compressor part, CFturbo software, which is a professional and volute radial turbo machinery design software, has been used to finish all the jobs. The design process included One-dimensional aerodynamic design, the flow channel and blade design. Then the whole compressor has been achieved by combined with two parts of the compressors, and a three-dimensional flow field analysis has been done by using the NUMECA software. The mixed flow compressor characteristic curve under the design conditions, 95% speed conditions, 90%speed conditions, 85% speed conditions and 80% speed conditions have been achieved. At the same time, the cause of pressure loss has been made clear by analyzing the flow field under the design point. This study can be the foundation of the following researches.Ultimately, non-vane structure was adopted to accomplish a new design, modelling and numerical simulation of the centrifugal part of the compressor. By comparing with the vane compressor, superiority and the effect on the whole performance of the compressor were obtained, which provides a design reference to the mixed flow compressor.
