With the rapid development of economy in our country,the development and construction of underground caverns work is widely carried out.Our country is between two seismic belts—The Pacific rim seismic belt and Eurasian seismic belt,seismic fracture belt activity is very active,once encounter earthquake,underground caverns engineering will be destroyed,and then influence the development of city and social stability,So research the seismic problem of the structure of the underground cavern is of great significance.Academic circles has carried out extensive investigation and study in seismic design of structure of underground caverns,and got the conclusion that the embedment depth has effect on stability of underground caverns.Based on the underground tunnel as an example,this paper analyzed the dynamic response of the tunnel under different embedment depth by using the method of model test and numerical simulation,then summed up the different embedment depth dynamic response characteristics of underground caverns.Based on the similarity theory,this paper formulated the similar ratio of the model test,determined the similar material model of surrounding rock and lining,and developed the sensor layout scheme of the model test considering the objective conditions.A model test had been carried out under different working conditions by changing the intensity of seismic waves,seismic wave type and the embedment depth,finally got model strain acceleration time history,lining and surrounding rock dynamic soil pressure test data,through the post-processing this paper got the variation characteristics such as the acceleration amplification coefficient of the stress,the stress of the surrounding rock and lining structure of the tunnel model.Eventually this paper summed up the dynamic response characteristics of underground caverns based on embedment depth.Finally based on the model test,the test results are verified by numerical simulation.
