Recently, vehicular networks have attracted attention from researchers in the field of networks.Due to the fast changes of network topologies and the independency of information such as road management and entertainment from the vehicular nodes, more and more researchers have introduced Information-Centric Networking(ICN)technology to vehicular networks.Caching is a necessary part of the ICN infrastructure.Effective caching methods can reduce the information request delay, the network load and the network bandwidth consumption. In this thesis,we summarized the existing caching strategies of ICN,and deeply analyzed the characteristics of vehicular networks and the information in vehicular networks.Based on classifying the information in vehicular networks,we proposed a new caching distribution method based on popularity/priority in vehicular networks based on ICN-CDBG(Caching Distribution Based on Gap).CDBG combines the advantages of non-cooperative and cooperative caching strategies,It can greatly reduce the caching management overhead since the nodes in the network do not need to exchange caching management information with each other. We also illustrate the feasibility of CDBG by analyzing the applicability of CDBG when the network topology and the vehicle density change. We also proposed a new caching replacement strategy, the content with smallest value will be replaced when the node is short of caching space. Moreover,we implemented and evaluated the proposed CDBG caching method in NS3 and ndnSIM.The simulation results show that CBDG can improve the caching space utilization of nodes, reduce the amount of data transmission in wireless environment and reduce the number of caching replacements, while has little effect on the average request delay, average request path length and cache hit ratio.
