With the rapid development of economy in our country,and the traffic demand sharp growth,the increase of traffic load makes the current highway traffic capacity and service levels significantly decreased.Now often causing jams in the peak-hour traffic,the fast and efficient characteristics of high way is hard to play,at the same time,sections of the road congestion will affect the working efficiency of regional road network traffic state.Therefore,after the highway traffic jams how to obtain timely and accurately information of the congestion area,which is the most concern issue of the highway managers and travelers.This paper through to study and analyze highway toll data of Hunan province,and combining the characteristics of traffic flow parameters,select the travel delay that is characteristics of the traffic flow parameters,as the indicator of congestion identification.and aiming at abnormal data can cause interference problems in the data of the expressway toll collection,this paper puts forward a corresponding data of four kinds of different abnormal data preprocess methods,this method not only can be to avoid interference of abnormal data effectively,and it can also keep more data,at the same time,that does not affect the characteristic of original data.The results show that the treatment effect is better.Then,through analysis of correlation between the highway traffic jams and the travel delay time,and it is proposed an algorithm of traffic congestion identification based on travel delays,the algorithm is designed that is according to the characteristics of the adjacent data fluctuation is not big.The method has good effect in discrimination,and it has low misjudgment rate.Finally,after the discriminated congestion,this article assumed congestion in a certain range,and all vehicles are synchronous movement in the congestion region,make use of the speed difference in fast and slow two kinds of vehicle,this paper proposes a congestion positioning calculation method,this method can effectively calculate the beginning location and the beginning time of the jams between adjacent stations.In terms of the verification results,this paper first illustrates the instances prove that difficulty,after that put forward the cross validation method which use of the connection between basic road sections and complex road sections in data,that prove the feasibility of this method.The contents,techniques and conclusions involved in the paper are an exploration andextension for transportation system state identification method.It is able to provide more comprehensive traffic information service for highway users and administrators,at the same time,it can provide certain theory basis and reference value for the highway traffic organizers of strategy formulation.
