The artificial reclamation technology has gradually played a very important role in the coastal engineering construction, along with the population in crease, in recent years. But there are m any differences between the reclaim ing land and the inland,such as the nature of the soil layer and the exte rnal disturbance. So,the needs of the study about how to protect the f oundation pit through suitable structures and materials to make sure the construction safety in reclaiming land is increasingly urgent.This paper depends on the study of th e “culture and entertainment center” engineering in Yangpu Bay of Hainan. The artificial island deep foundation pit stability and deformation rules has been studied through the combining using of the theoretical analysis, field monitoring and finite element simulation. The main research work and achievements are as follows:In this paper, the deformation mechanism, the failure mode and the main influencing factors of the the deep foundation pit are studied. Meanwhile the same details in the “culture and entertainment center” engineering are studied. During the study the experience of previous engineerings are considered too.Considered the engineering geology char acteristics in reclamation area, the construction and monitoring scheme of pit support structure is designed.And The field monitoring study of the deformation rule about the pit support structure is completed.The deformation rule about the support structure,during the construction process and the surface vertical changing rule with the dig depth and time are analyzed emphatically.The deep foundation pit digging engineering model is built by using the lastic-plastic finite element analysis m ethod. And the displacement of foundation pit, the structural internal force of foundati on pit support structure and the horizontal deformation of the monitoring points are simulated by ANSYS software.The simulation result and the field monitoring result fit very well,which shows a good reliability about the simulation.The influence law of deep foundation pit st ability such as the buried depth of the supporting pile,the displacement of the supporting structure, the ground settlement and the mechanics characteristics of th e soil layer, are both studied by the finite elem ent method.
