With the increasing industrial demand,the traditional aircraft which power is engine can't bear the daily needs.But pure electric aircraft powered by electricity can't bear on the watt level and flight time for the job requirements.So the oil and electricity hybrid system arises at the historic moment,combined with the advantages of traditional aircraft power,and can make up for the shortage of electric aircraft when the lack of navigation.The hybrid power is that combination of two or more than two power energy providing power for the aircraft together.This design is modified on the aircraft made by my college named “A certain type of aircraft”,through using hybrid technology mature experience in auto industry,then put the application of hybrid electric power system to small sport aircraft.Because of this design just for power system,the shape of the aircraft structure has not changed,so in the calculation still use the basic performance parameters of “A certain type of aircraft” were calculated,such as: drag coefficient,lift coefficient,etc.In this paper,by estimating the takeoff weight and performance of the aircraft to determine the size and type of power of an aircraft piston engine,motor and battery,then in view of the power plant and auxiliary device designed to cooperate with each other using a petrol-electric hybrid system.Combined with the structure layout of the “A certain type of aircraft”,then the installation position of each component of the oil and electricity hybrid system has given.Combined with the characteristics of the design,the use of the hub motor compared to the weight of the gear drive is reduced and the structure is simple.When aircraft is taking-off on the land,though the running distance by motor provides auxiliary or not for compare the watt level by hybrid system and the prototype.And when the hybrid system aircraft is driving on land,with engine driving propeller-driven aircraft on land when driving power,total distance,energy consumption comparison respectively,then got concluded optimal contrast.When taking off on water,though the running distance by motor provides auxiliary or not for compare the watt level by hybrid system and the prototype.When hybrid power system drives aircraft on water,with engine driving propeller-driven aircraft on land when driving power,total distance,energy consumption comparison respectively,then got concluded optimal contrast.The results show that although the payload slightly decreased,but the aircraft can fly normally,and the distance by take-off on land is shortened by 12.5%,Maximum power on land increased by 20.37%.And in the same amount of oil,land travel increased by 78.1%.The distance by take-off on land is shortened by 17.56%,the total range of water navigation increased by 47.5%.Reduced the requirements of the aircraft on the runway and takeoff waters,improve its usability.And its application field is improved,can travel on land,also sail on water.
