Magnetorheological fluid damper,as a new kind of damper has been widely used in many fields.Damper surface with rectangular outer ring groove of the piston ring groove,because of its size has a great influence on the damper force magnitude and change range,so in the actual design of the damper,often use the size and range of a plurality of rectangular ring grooves or spiral groove to change the output damping force in damping piston machining and in order to obtain greater energy consumption.In this paper,the size of the ring groove on the damper of annular aperture rectangle ring groove which design by ourself has been studied.Through the simulation software of Fluent to analyze the influence of damping characteristics by change the size and number of the ring groove.Through the simulation by change the rectangular ring groove size and combined with the simulation of the velocity contours and the velocity vector diagram and the static pressure to the rectangular ring groove of different resistance increase and resistance reduction of mechanism are analyzed in detail.The better rectangular damping ratio of rectangular multi ring MRF damper is determined by this method.Dimensional analysis of the π theorem is used to establish the mechanics model of rectangular ring groove type damper.According to the simulation data by using professional software has fitting out of the influence of damping force coefficient of dimensionless quantity.In addition,according to the simulation results of 9 groups with different MR damper rectangular ring groove size test,9 groups of experimental parameters include the size of groove width,groove depth,width and number of Taiwan channel are changed,and the 9 groups of the experimental test results were compared and analyzed.During the experiment,fixed the slot width and Taiwan shoulder,change the groove depth then test the output of the damping force.Same argument,fixed groove depth and Taiwan shoulder changing the size of groove depth then text the output damping force.Fixed groove depth and groove width changing the size of Taiwan shoulder then text the output damping force.The results show that when the groove width,groove depth and width Taiwan are 0.5mm respectively,the output damping force more larger.The more the number of slots,the greater of output damping force.On this basis,compared the calculated results with the experimental data,the mechanical model which reflects the damping characteristics is verified and the established mechanical model is correct.The mechanical model can be used as a reference for the design and engineering application of the piston of rectangular annular slot damper.
