In recent years,the vehicle number and drivers are growing quickly with the development of the economic.We are facing a severe traffic problem.And the children number is also growing since to the Two-child police is published.So it is necessary to provide a safe protection for the child occupant.Though the GB27887-2011 “Motor vehicle child occupant restraint system” is mandatory to implement,the child occupant safety in side impact is not included,relative study is also limited.So to improve the child occupant safety in side impact,it is important to research the injury risk of 3YO child occupant in vehicle side impact.3 different kinds of child restraint system finite element model are built and verified based on the test and regulations.Based on the UN R129 regulation,set a sled side impact simulation model and verify the panel material.The velocity curve is outputted and proved that this model and method is reasonable.However,this method is unrepeatable if the CRS is changed.Therefore,a new FE model using the velocity curve is created.2 kinds of method is compared and provide that both are effective.And the second method has a wonderful repeatability.This method can be used in the latter study and show a significant meaning on the child occupant protection and CRS research.The Q3 FE model and 3 CRS are used to search the 3YO child occupant injury risk in side impact.The kinematics show that the dummy start move to left with the CRS and sled car since 0ms.The dummy began to move to right since the panel contact with the CRS at 30 ms.At the same time,the head do a lateral flexion.The injury results show that the head injury value of dummy under the ISOFIX CRS was the highest,the HPC15 and the head acceleration(3ms)were 2085.0 and 171.7g.Thorax and neck jury value of dummy were all significantly higher than the child occupant tolerance limit,except for the dummy under the three-point CRS.So the chest and neck of child occupant in a side impact are susceptible to serious injury.Based on the U-NCAP regulation,a vehicle side impact FE model is built,and the Q3 FE model and 3 CRS are used to search the 3YO child occupant injury risk in side impact.The kinematic response shows that there is a difference between the result of the car side collision and the result of the trolley side collision due to the movement of the vehicle around the B column.As the MDB collides with the vehicle,the child dummy and CRS move to the left due to inertia.At 60 ms,the child dummy and the CRS are in contact with the deformed door,and the child's torso is subjected to the force of the CRS to change the direction of movement,and the child's dummy head flexes due to inertia.The dummy hip position move to the right side first,the child dummy torso and limbs around the hip for a certain rotation at 90 ms.The child dummy then moves with the CRS to the right.The results showed that the head injury of the dummy was the most serious in the three-point seat restraint,and the HPC15 and the head acceleration(3ms)were 554.5 and 82.1g.The chest acceleration(3ms)of children dummy in the three kinds of working conditions all exceeded the reference value of 55 g,and it can be seen that the chest of the child dummy can be seriously damaged in the side impact.
