Transverse stiffeners on crane beams can prevent the web from local buckling under shearing loads.The traditional method of connection between stiffeners and beam webs and flanges is by welds.To reduce stress concentrations due to welding,different strategies are employed,such as fitting stiffener ends without welding,curtailing stiffener ends by a distance or attaching short angles to stiffener ends and fitting to beam flanges.Nevertheless,fitting is difficult to implement and prone to corrosion.All These factors will have a very negative impact on the fatigue performance of the crane girder.Because the bonding connection can effectively avoid the problem of stress concentration.Therefore,the paper put forward connecting stiffeners to beam webs and flanges by adhesive bonding,either complete bonding or only bonding stiffener ends to tensile flanges(Stiffened steel plate and angle steel two forms).Firstly,the hot spot stress method is introduced to analyze the influence of the traditional stiffener connection on the crane girder fatigue performance,the stress is calculated by the method of hot surface extrapolation and compared with the nominal stress.Secondly,the stress states caused by different bonding connection methods(5forms)and traditional connection methods are analyzed and compared in detail.The stress concentration factor,the stress and deformation of the flange,stiffener and the web are obtained;The influence of adhesive parameters on the fatigue performance of crane beam is analyzed.The transverse stiffener is arranged on the crane beam web to prevent the occurrence of local buckling failure,so the influence of the differentbonding methods on the stability of the beam web is analyzed.Studies show that the bonding connection can improve the fatigue performance of the crane girder.When the stiffener is fully connected with the beam in the form of angle steel,the same arrangement direction of angle steel has no stress concentration and the influence on the stability of the web can also be the same as that of the traditional ways.When the stiffener end is only bonding to tensile flanges in the form of steel plate,it can not only facilitate the construction but also make the stability of the web to achieve the same effect as the traditional connections.This method can also be used to improve the stress concentration caused by the tension flange of the crane beam.However,when the stiffener is connected with the beam in the form of steel plate,the stability of the web will be greatly reduced,so it should not be used.
