In accordance with the increasing standards of people’s material living,the requirements of household air conditioning are also further improved,especially for the noise when air conditioner are working.Air supply system by ion wind of corona discharge,compared with the traditional air supply system,has some advantages,such as low-noise,no motor,no fan,no mechanical wear,simple component structure,long life,etc.It can be used with a mute requirements device.In this paper,ion wind was studied using needle-mesh corona device,and the factors of ion wind was discussed,and low-power,large-area ion wind air supply system was proposed.The single-needle-mesh ionic wind is the primitives of the multi-pin-mesh ion wind,In this paper,ion wind was studied using needle-mesh corona device.The features of ion wind are discussed the effects of the electrode material,the radius of curvature of the needle,and aperture and line diameter of the metal mesh through simulation of the electric field and experiments.In consideration of the discharge current,ion wind speed and wind energy conversion efficiency and other factors.The radius of curvature of the needle and aperture and line diameter of the metal mesh have a greater effect on the ion wind.The smaller the radius of curvature of the needle,the higher the discharge current and the average wind speed,but the energy conversion efficiency will not necessarily increase.The higher the porosity,the higher the discharge current,the greater the input power,there are the coupling relation of resistance of the mesh and discharge of mesh.On this basis,phenomenological model was proposed about the distance between electrodes and active area of flow field applied to less than 20 mm the distance between electrodes.As a basis of the characteristic of single needle-mesh ionic wind,the effects of adjacent needle was studied by simulation of electric field and experiments,and obtained that if the needle adjacent to each other in the active area of the flow field,each electric field would be weakened,the velocity distribution would be deformed.With the distance between electrodes get smaller,the energy conversion efficiency of a single needle continue improvement.According to the above conclusions,offered to the spatial arrangement of the needle the basic shape of equilateral triangles.This paper was also discussed the effect of the fixed needle metal stents by ion wind,The results showed that the ion wind would be weaken by the metal stent,had loud-noise when high voltage was applied.The channel walls in the active area of the single needle reduce the discharge current and the ion windaverage wind speed.Finally,in order to increase the energy conversion efficiency of the ion wind,magnetic fields are applied to the region of the corona discharge.The results show that the magnetic field which trapped electron to have more chance to combine with oxygen could increase the energy conversion efficiency of the ionic wind effect.
