Nowadays the needs for living environment and space is becoming higher and higher.Compared with the general reinforced concrete frame structure,special-shaped column frame structure has been widely used in design of multi-story and high-rise buildings, which has desired flexible using function.Compared with masonry-concrete structure,special-shaped columns frame structure is more suitable to be applied in high rise buildings because of notable reduction in gravity load.Furthermore, the unsightly appearance of indoor protruding parts could be removed, which is resulted from dissolution of rectangle column in RC frame and frame-shear wall structures, plus with growth of usable floor areas. The materials applied for its external walls are often of high efficient in heat perseveration or insulation and of light gravity, which conform to the general direction of contemporary construction industry and has been drawn a widespread attention in engineering practice. It is generally considered that the seismic performance of special-shaped column is not as good as that of reinforced concrete frame structure because of the relatively larger section height.Further research is needed to ensure its wide application in the future. With moment-curvature beam element in Adina,a model of static elastic-plastic push-over analysis for a single storey reinforced concrete cruciform shaped column structure was formed. Results show that the increase of concrete strength is beneficial to improve the load bearing capacity. The effect of changing the strength grade of the steel pipe to improve it is not obvious while the section area of the steel pipe has a significant effect on improving it.The analysis results were proved with enough accuracy compared with those of moment values in moment-curvature curve.
