Rare-earth permanent magnet motor has the advantages of high power density,strong torque capability and wide speed range,and has been widely concerned and applied in industrial drive applications.However,with the rare-earth permanent magnet materials in the global scope to become a strategic resource,there have been unstable material supply and volatility of the larger transaction price.Thus,in this context,a class of less-rare-earth or non-rare earth permanent magnet motor gradually aroused the domestic and foreign companies in the field of motor research interest.It is worth mentioning that,although this type of motor through the use of low magnetic energy product of non-rare earth permanent magnet material as permanent magnet excitation source,and the effective reduction or "zero use" purposes of rare-earth permanent magnet material realized successfully,it caused a certain degree of impact for the power density and torque capacity of the motor.Therefore,the study of a high power density,high torque capability and high efficiency of rare-earth or non-rare earth permanent magnet motor has become one of the focus of attention and popular research in the motor research field.In this context,this paper presents and studies a novel less-Rare-Earth Double-Stator Flux-Switching Permanent Magnet(LR-DSFSPM)motor.By combining the triple design concept with "rare earth","double stator" and "magnetic switch",and on the basis of the effective reduction of rare-earth permanent magnet consumption and the cost of materials,the motor not only inherited the merits of high forcing magnetic effect,high torque density,strong robustness of the rotor structure and so on of the flux switching motor,and the advantages of high internal space utilization,high power density and diverse operation modes of the double stator motor.The motor has potential application prospects.in many areas like electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles.The main contents of this paper are as follows:In this paper,the background and significance of the research is introduced firstly,and some research status of rare-earth motors,double-stator motors and flux-switching motors and so on are introduced.Secondly,the topology and operation principle of the LR-DSFSPM is briefly.The initial parameters of the motor is designed and calculated from the number of rotor poles,size of the permanent magnet and windings.In addition,in the parameter design process,the average torque and torque peak to peak are the design targets,and the key parameter parameters are determined by using the single parameter optimization method,and the corresponding parameter optimization range is effectively reduced.On this basis,the response surface analysis method is introduced into the parameter optimization design,and the change trend of the parameter change caused by the parameter change is obtained quickly and easily.After the comprehensive trade-off,the optimal value of the key parameter is determined.It laid the foundation for the electromagnetic performance analysis and study of dynamic operation characteristics.Then,the basic electromagnetic properties such as air gap flux,back EMF and torque of LR-DSFSPM motor are analyzed,and the validity of the design of the motor and the feasibility of the independent and simultaneous operation of the internal and external motor are verified,which provides the prerequisites of the multi-mode operation of the motor.Considering the potential drive applications of electric vehicles,there are usually many kinds of driving conditions such as frequent start-stop,high-speed and heavy climbing.In this paper,the operation characteristics of the motor in different operating modes are researched to simulation in detail.In the process,through allocating power ratio of inner and outer motor flexibly and the coordinating operating mode of inner and outer motor,making the motor showing a wide range of driving options in the face of complex conditions,with the ability of providing required torque and speed compensation,and thus to meet a variety of drive needs.Finally,the feasibility of the LR-DSFSPM motor prototype is taken into account,and the prototype motor scheme is determined.However,because the motor structure has the characteristics of double air gap and high space integration,the processing difficulty is bigger than that of the conventional permanent magnet synchronous motor,which leads to the longer processing cycle.It should be noted that,at present,the prototype motor is in the assembly process,and the corresponding chapter for the motor part of the processing parts were displayed.Once the prototype is manufactured and assembled,the research group will perform the motor performance test to provide further validation of the design rationality of the motor.
