As a kind of widely used fluid machinery,centrifugal pump's design theory is far from perfect,so the optimal design of centrifugal pump has always been the focus.A centrifugal pump whose model number is EW150-315 is selected as reference object,and some work of hydraulic design,three dimensional modeling,numerical simulation,analysis of internal flow field are done based on referent.Furthermore,the relationship between centrifugal pump geometric parameters and external characteristics was researched as well.The results of simulation and analysis meaningful in centrifugal pump design.The main works and conclusions are outlined as follows:1.The domestic and foreign research status of centrifugal pump was simply summarized.2.Referring the limited data of referent centrifugal pump model EW150-315,and using the centrifugal pump hydraulic design method mentioned in a reference book Modern Pump Technical Manual to design impeller and volute.3.With the use of Creo3.0,the three dimensional models were built on the basis of 2D hydraulic design.After that,ICEM CFD was applied to divide grids of the centrifugal pump passage.4.In order to study the relationship of impeller geometric parameters and pump performance,four impeller geometric parameters are selected to make single factor experiment design and they are impeller inlet diameter,position of impeller inlet side,blade wrap angle,blade outlet angle.5.In order to study the simulation and actual experiment error,experiment on model pump was conducted and the flow points range from 0.8Q to 1.3Q.The experimental and simulated datum were compared and analyzed.
