With the innovations of power electronic devices,communication technology and related control technology,the power electronic energy conversion devices have a continuous development of modularization,integration and high-power.The concept of Power Electronic Building Block(PEBB)therefore came into being.PEBB technology primarily aims to transform the power electronic conversion device with complicated structure,high technical difficulty,long production period to the maintainable power electronic system with modularization and standardization,in order to achieve cost reduction,reliability improvement and maintainability.As the large-capacity power electronic devices have distinct distribution characteristics in the circuit structure,spatial layout and control functions,adopting distributed control is the key mean to make an achievement of PEBB with plug and play,standardization and flexible configuration.At present,high-speed ring network communication technology is an important direction of distributed control of power electronic standard module.Starting from the functional system,this study analyzes the distribution characteristics and the distributed network topology of PEBB,and then clarifies the control system of power electronic system.On account of the existing single-ring network distributed and Switch distributed control type communication system,Combined with the actual algorithm of the modular multi-level circulator(MMC).This study proposes a new double-loop network topology and also develops a ring-network communication strategy of MMC distributed system based on PEBB.The dual-ring network communication strategy lead to an improvement over the previous single-ring network communication strategy,from communicating with one module at a time to batching the modules in the whole ring network.This communication strategy requires PEBB with excellent parallel processing capability,according to the high-speed parallel operation characteristic of field programmable gate array(FPGA),FPGA is therefore selected as the controller of MMC module based on PEBB.In this paper,the whole ring network system is studied with a detailed theoretical analysis and schematic design,and then the communication and basic functions of the ring network structure are simulated according to the developed communication protocol.The simulation results verify the correctness of the double loop network structure of MMC distributed system based on PEBB.
