PMSG based dual PWM converter system can make the motor-side active power generation controllable, make the grid-side operate with unit power factor, and achieve green energy transmission. The passivity control and the coordinated control of the PMSG based dual PWM converter system are studied.Firstly, the mathematical models of the PMSG and the grid-side converter in the two-phase synchronous rotating dq coordinate system are introduced respectively. The vector control principle of the PMSG and the grid-side converter is described and analyzed by the vector diagram. From the view of passivity control theory, the PCHD model of the PMSG based dual PWM converter system is established. The original Hamiltonian energy function of the system is matched to the expected Hamiltonian energy function by energy shaping, and the passivity control law of the dual PWM converter system is deduced. Aiming at the problem of DC bus voltage fluctuation caused by frequent power fluctuation of PMSG, the DC link is modeled and the energy transmission law of dual PWM converter is analyzed through the expected Hamiltonian energy function. A coordinated passivity control method based on the machine-grid side dynamic power error information is proposed to suppress the DC bus voltage fluctuations, compared with the traditional power feedforward method, the system has no feedforward effect at steady state, which reduces the influence of the feedforward effect on the steady-state performance of the grid-side. In MATLAB/Simulink, the passivity control scheme and the PI regulator control scheme are compared respectively. Moreover, the proposed coordinated control algorithm is added in the passivity control scheme and is compared with the original scheme. The results show that the proposed method is correct and effective.Finally, a dual-PWM converter prototype of PMSG with TMS320F28335 DSP is designed,and the control algorithm is programed. The PI controller and the passivity controller comparative experimental study based on the PMSG dual PWM converter vector control has been done. The experimental results show that the passivity control scheme is better than the PI controller on the global stability, has less parameters to be set that easier to be tuned. Through a coordinated passivity control experiment, the experiment results show that the fluctuation of the DC bus voltage is restrained by the coordinated control compared with the traditional independent control.
