There are various uncertain factors caused the welding quality of power battery have some differences during the production.The differences of welding quality magnified by connection of battery in series,and reduce the performance of battery pack.This paper through further study of the welding characteristics of the battery,developing a special welding machine,and the following are main aspects to introduce this machine:1.Through research on the welding characteristics of the power battery,the reason of the poor welding quality of battery was revealed,and put forward the double pulse capacitor storage welding;2.The design of main circuit of double pulse capacitor storage welding power supply;3.In order to realize the automation of power battery welding,designing the welding head and welding platform;4.Five samples of welded battery have been selected by the way of random sampling,and then these samples are used in destructive tensile test.Testing results illustrate the average strength of welding spot reached 70 N,and meet the expected requirements.
