VANET will be an indispensable support for intelligent traffic system, which will enhance communication between vehicles and strengthen the links between vehicles and road infrastructure. This makes it possible to coordinate the control of vehicle behavior in a distributed manner,to balance the allocation of road resources rationally, and to provide efficient and convenient information services.Which in turn enhances vehicle safety, improves transportation efficiency and improves the ride environment. In a word,it can provide a unified solution for urban traffic congestion and security. However, the rapid movement of the vehicle nodes leads to frequent network topology changes, resulting in frequent link breaks and routes failing. How to transmit data quickly and reliably between vehicles and between vehicles and road infrastructure is an urgent problem,so the design of highly efficient and stable routing plays an important role in VANET.This paper studies the routing protocol of VANET based on topology in oneway three-lane motorway. The network topology of vehicles the same lane is relatively stable. The improved algorithm of AODV in VANET is limited by ondemand routing mechanism, and the network delay is relatively large. In order to meet the requirements of packet delivery rate and network delay for VANET,this paper proposes a routing protocol called DSVV according to the characteristics of the scene. The protocol is that relatively stable nodes within the limited hops use the pre-routing mechanism to establish routing based on vehicle position, speed and direction of mobile information, routes of other nodes are established through the on-demand routing mechanism. The simulation shows that the network delay of DSVV is significantly reduced compared with AODV with Hello mechanism, but the packet delivery rate is somewhat reduced. In order to improve the performance of DSVV,This paper presents an improved routing protocol called DSVV_CL.The protocol uses cross-layer piggyback technology to send useful information of Hello packets to the neighbor nodes through data packets. The simulation result shows that compared with DSVV,the overall routing performance of DSVV_CL is significantly improved;compared with AODV with Hello mechanism, the network delay is greatly reduced, and the packet delivery rate is almost close. To sum up,this paper proposes that reducing network delay by integrated the pre-routing mechanism in AODV,and enhancing the overall performance of the routing through cross-layer piggyback technology, which provides a new idea and method for further research on VANET routing algorithm.
