Vibration control of the Structure includes passive control,active control,semi-active control and hybrid control.The passive control has been widely used in practical engineering,the tuned mass damper(TMD)was used as a kind of passive control method.The pounding tuned mass damper(PTMD)is a new type of damping device,which based on the TMD and increase a baffle to limit displacement of the mass.At the same time,PTMD install the viscoelastic material in the baffle,in that way,can improve the efficiency of energy loss during a collision from mass to viscoelastic material,and structure obtain the effect of vibration control.T his article researched on impact force model of viscoelastic material-steel and the reduction of vibration performance with PTMD.The main research work includes:(1)The article introduced the basic theory of structural vibration control and the research status of tuned mass dampers and pounding tuned mass dampers.(2)The article introduces the existing models and combined the characteristics of viscoelastic material.So that article proposed a new impact mechanics model of the viscoelastic material which considered the viscoelastic material elastic aftereffect.Based on the principle of energy conservatio n,derived the relationship of various impact parameters in this impact model.(3)The researcher made a new pounding TMD device which was used to test viscoelastic materials and steel.After that researcher obtained impact force and indentation displacement curve.In addition,the article analysed the coefficient of restitution and the remaining surface deformation ratio from different viscoelastic material and influences on the coefficient of restitution by the initial collision velocity,the thickness of viscoelastic material.(4)According to the impact force and indentation displacements which obtain from the pounding experiment used numerical search method and Particle Swarm Optimization.These ways identified the different parameters such as damping coefficient,impact stiffness and nonlinear index which using impact force as final target.The new proposed model compared with other model of visoelastic material which can be better description of the impact process of viscoelastic material and steel.(5)The article established equation of motion which belongs to single-degree-of-freedom structure.In addition,simulated and analyzed the Damping performance from TMD and PTMD in the free vibration,harmonic excitation and seismic wave situations.
