The magnetic refrigeration is based on the magneto-caloric effect(MCE).MCE is a phenomenon that a magnetic material releases heat when it is magnetized and absorbs heat when it is demagnetized.Magnetic refrigeration has been become one of the research focuses in cooling area due to its high-efficiency,energy-conservation,and environment-friendliness compared with the traditional gas compression refrigeration,which can help reaching the goal of low carbon economy advocated in the modern world and has broad application prospects.The room temperature magnetic refrigeration technology is predicted to have the extensive applications in the fields of home refrigerator,automobile air conditioning,food industry,and health,etc.Therefore,the prospect of magnetic refrigeration technology is promising.The main works in this paper include:1.Firstly,introduces a reciprocating room temperature magnetic refrigerator in detail,including magnetic refrigeration cycle and the key components design and movement way,etc.2.Then researched the preservative treatment of magnetic refrigerant in detail,based on the different concentrations of sodium hydroxide solution of gadolinium refrigerant for electric polarization curve measurement and microscopic composition analysis,X-Ray Diffraction and other means of research,compared the corrosion performance,finally found when sodium hydroxide concentration is 2%,the gadolinium corrosion result is the best.3,After completed of the magnetic refrigerator,under the environment of 300 k achieve the temperature span close to 4k,we found a series of problems after the experimental data analysis and then solved them,when the room temperature was 301 k,total 560 g of gadolinium as refrigerant,the pump speed was 1400 r/min got the temperature span about 7k.4,Finally introduced a magneto-caloric effect directly measuring instrument in detail,explaind the structure and how they works,after assembled and made a practical test.under the magnetic field of 1.5T,got the adiabatic temperature about 3K,under the magnetic field of 2T,the adiabatic temperature close to 3.9K.
