Herringbone gear transmission device has been widely used in the shipbuilding industry and aerospace industry.Oil-jet lubrication is always used for the lubrication and cooling in order to avoid gear scuffing failure by the high temperature of gear tooth surface.However,the lack of scientific research on lubrication parameters and temperature field restricts the development of oil-jet lubrication technology.Therefore,the oil-jet lubrication and its temperature field of herringbone gear are studied in this article.The details include:(1)Based on the analysis of the meshing characteristics of herringbone gear pairs,the formulas of the normal pressure and the length of the contact line are deduced,then the contact pressure of meshing points are calculated.By using the finite element method,the dynamic contact pressure is simulated and the accuracy of theoretical calculation is verified(2)Based on the empirical formula,the friction coefficient and the heat generation of the herringbone gear under two conditions which are oil-jet lubrication and dry friction are calculated.Then,the influence of the heat transfer coefficient on the steady temperature field of the herringbone gear is studied by simulated analysis.(3)The meshing process of herringbone gear is deeply analyzed and the instantaneous temperature of meshing tooth surface is simulated.The Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)of herringbone gear under different injection distances and injection models are established.Then the heat transfer coefficient of tooth surface under different oil injection speeds is studied.(4)The temperature of helical gear tooth surface is measured by Optris PI on the power-opening gear testbed.And the effectiveness of the simulation analysis method for the herringbone gear in this article is verified by the comparison of test results and simulated results.
