Vibration,which is ubiquitous in our lives,can cause harm to structures through structure-borne propagation,while generating structural noise and air-borne noise during propagation through the air.With the development of society,more and more large-scale mechanical equipments are concentrated in and around urban areas,and in the meantime,the construction and distribution of electrical substations have been shifted from the suburbs to the neighboring districts of business and residential zones.Vibration generated by the large power transformer has a harmful effect on the surrounding buildings and environment as a consequence of structure-borne propagation or air noise,and impacts on the stability and service life of precision machinery within the substation.Therefore,the study of vibration of transformer and related vibration isolation technology has attracted more and more attention by power supply departments and relevant transformer manufacturing enterprises.This article covers the promising smart material,magnetorheological elastomers(MREs)and its related applications as well as the transformer vibration characteristics.On the basis of the vibration analysis of the transformer,a vertical magnetorheological elastomers vibration isolator was designed and developed,and its performance of vibration attenuation was tested.Furthermore,the stimulational experiments of integrated transformer-isolator-base isolation system were carried out using the finite element simulation software ANSYS and Matlab/Simulink platform.The main content includes:(1)To sum up the current research on the vibration and noise of transformer,as well as on the development and application of MREs.(2)To introduce the overall structure of transformer,whose model was built using Solid Works,and carry out on-site test and analysis the vibration of the transformer substation.(3)Based on the characteristic analysis of transformer,the appropriate MREs was fabricated and tested.Then a vertical MREs isolator was designed for the transformer.(4)The experimental setup for the developed MREs isolator was built and performed.The results show that the isolator has the capacity to shift the resonant frequency by 108% under the external current from 0-1.5 A.From the force-displacement curve,both the stiffness and damping are increasing as the current is increasing.Based on the K-V model,the related parameter was identified to describe the dynamic properties of the vertical isolator.(5)An integrated transformer-isolator-base isolation system was modeled using ANSYS software.The influence of different stiffness and damping on the vibration isolation efficiency was studied,while an ON-OFF control of double-layer vibration isolation system was implemented in Matlab/Simulink...
