On Building The Portable Coordinate Measure System

Dimensional Measurement Equipments are used in manufacturing industry widely,but the high price and the hardness of maintain cause this project,which prefer focus on the economical efficiency but not the high accuracy and wish to provide an additional solution for varied measurement tasks.This project will develop a platform called Portable Coordinate Measure Machine(CMM),which is fit to measure the small size work piece whose accuracy is not very high.And it can also work as the basic platform of the Nano-CMM.The economic type of this system can be used in the teaching of CMM.The development of this system will be introduced and things will start from the detail requirement of this portable CMM project,following with the solution of the whole CMM system according to that requirement.After the requirement and solution about the top,the detail of main components will be shown as an important part of this paper.Each main sub system will be discussed and introduced.All these include the mechanical sub system,which is originated from the PPCNC(Personal Portable CNC)machine with the necessary adjustment,some analysis about the deviation of the machine;how to renew and change the electrical system for accepting the new parts like the probe and the new controller;how to program and build a piece of program which works as an interface between the measure software and the measure equipment;a simple introduction about the choice of measure software and controller and etc.On the interface development,some key problem will be discussed,which include the mode object of DME(Dimension Measure Equipment),how to complete the function about communication using serial port and TCP/IP in the platform C#.Additionally,the protocol of communication between the measure software and the measure equipment,whose name is I++,will be analyzed as pre-knowledge for the development of interface software.During this project,the prototype system has been built up which include all physical structure,electrical system and I++ interface developed by C#.In the paper,some items of adjustment and test on the prototype system will be discussed.
